Life Threatening Emergency: 911
Non-Life Threatening Emergency: (970) 385-2900
FCR Emergency Medical Response: (970) 946-1388
Note: The dispatcher at these numbers is trained to dispatch the appropriate law enforcement, fire or medical personnel based on their conversation with you.
Additionally, described below is the protocol for deploying a group of neighborhood volunteers who are willing to be called if you need and want help AFTER CALLING 911 OR OTHER EMERGENCY NUMBER as you await the ambulance. They will respond to your situation with one of the Ranch AEDs and/or First Aid Kit.
These neighbors are not licensed professionals. They have voluntarily taken AED/CPR and/or Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) classes. Be assured these classes all emphasize sensitivity and respect for privacy of individuals requesting help.
The Ranch provides a dedicated mobile phone 970-946-1388 referred to as the “Emergency Medical Response” or “EMR” phone. This phone is carried 24/7 by a neighborhood volunteer. It is configured to be capable of sending a simultaneous text to a “Responder Group” alerting them that you are requesting help at your FCR home (or other side on the Ranch). You will be asked if you have called 911, what the nature of your emergency is and your address or location. The alert will them be texted to the mobile phons of volunteers on the Responder List, deploying those available neighbors to arrive quickly as they can.
Again, this is a completely volunteer system. The imperfections in mobile phone technology must be recognized as well as the human factor in this system. It must be acknowledged the volunteer carrying this dedicated EMR phone 24/7 may at times be unavailable. Understand there are no residents formally “on call” for emergencies. These are simply neighbors who are willing to come to your assistance, acting as Good Samaritans, if they are available.
Summary
- It is advised that you add all three of these emergency numbers to the very top of your published FCR phone list.
- A medical emergency can evolve or progress to “Life Threatening”, so do not hesitate to use the 911 number if you have that concern.
- Review and update the Medical Record of all residing in your home to keep on or around your refrigerator for access by emergency professionals when they arrive.
- Be sure you have the blue reflective house number sign at the entrance to your driveway.
